Our represented Indonesian artist is known for his attractive use of bright pastels and iconic objects to comment on ecological issues and life difficulties. The artist uses the symbolic form of a house as a place of refuge where different kinds of socialisation among its occupants take place. The work in the prize exhibition is ‘Life Balance’, which is a painting of a dreamy cloud facing a barren land, questioning sustainable living and our role in it.
