Karine Guillermin's artworks are meticulous and intricate. On a canvas as tall and big as human-sized, she spends a great deal of hours painting petals of flowers, aquatic molluscs, and other organic shapes derived from nature. Often asked how she maintains her speed and interest in working on the paintings, she answers, "Over time I have created my own goals, my own rules that help erase boredom. When working I respect a code, a sense of colour, use of closed lines, a direction, keeping to multiples of three. This way my mind is always awake attentive, and at one with my creation."
